The KAIST Social Entrepreneurship (SE) MBA operates a study aboard program, called Social Enterprise Accelerator Program (SEAP), in collaboration with the University of Sheffield, UK. The SE MBA Progarm was launched in 2013 in cooperation with SK with the vision to educate future social entrepreneurs.   

The SEAP aims to foster future social entrepreneurs to have a global mindset and learn how social enterprises in the UK operate. This will also reinforce KAIST SE MBA Program’s efforts to raise its social impact and global competitiveness. 

Students will pay a visit to a number of famous institutions in the UK that are related to social enterprises. For example, they will visit “UnLtd” a global agency that supports social enterprises, “Tech North” a digital economic news media organization, and “Jamie Veitch Consultancy” which is a consulting firm that specializes in social enterprises. Also, students are to participate a number of seminars, lecturers, and coaching sessions which will be offered by experts in social enterprises, including professors from the University of Sheffield, UK. 

Specifically, a variety of workshops such as ‘Fostering Social Entrepreneurship’, ‘Intensive workshop in Social Value’, ‘Utilizing Digital Technology’ will be offered. Through these workshops, students can reflect what they learn in their business models to increase efficiency and stabiity. Moreover, students will have network sessions with social entrepreneurs in UK. 

Mr. Kim Yong Gap, the Director of the SK Happiness Foundation, said “We expect our KAIST SE MBA students to broaden their knowledge and perspectives in the UK, where social enterprises have been operated for a long time. As SK has been an active member in spreading social entrepreneurship, SK will try our best to support social ventures through building a new school curriculum and to bring advancement in incubating social enterprises”.
