Motivated with the idea of initiating an important global agenda based on the collaboration and participation of Korean students and international students, KAIST Global Impact started its operations in Spring 2016. KAIST College of Business recognizes the value of international students; the presence of KOICA students, mostly government officials in finance and policy departments, actively participate and share important experiences that are helpful for solving the dilemma of sustainable development. Taking advantage of the experience in operating and funding sustainable projects by KAIST College of Business students, and also, considering that KAIST main campus students have expertise in technology development for sustainable growth projects, the club seeks to initiate an agenda that brings together this operational and technological knowledge.

With the advice of Professor Kwang Woo Park, its leader, Erik Kim, along with other students, actively work and discuss an incubation strategy and logistic plan for the organization. During the Fall Semester 2016, the club ran Sherpa meetings so that it can initiate internal seminars in 2017. Its members also ran events such as the International Student Flea Market, with the objective of providing high quality winter jackets for students who are new to the cold Korean winter. Moreover, its leader, Erik Kim, is planning an inter-campus sustainable growth seminar involving KAIST College of Business and KAIST main campus to be held in 2017. Finally, in the long run the club aspires to submit reports containing recommendations for international organizations related to sustainable growth.

The club is open for anyone who wants to join and develop the program and its ideas. If you need more information, please contact Eric Kim through erickimz@business.kaist.ac.kr
