Professors of KAIST as BJ for ‘Afreeca TV’2017-04-27Hit:2823

Afreeca TV has opened MBA lectures by professors of KAIST.

Professor Kim, Young-gul, at KAIST College of Business, has been giving a lecture on ‘Customer Relationship Management (CRM)’, one of the main themes for an MBA program, at 9 PM every Thursday since 9th of April. The heart of the lecture is to know who the core customers of the company are, and how to acquire potential customers and transform them into core customers.

Professor Kim has been the BJ for Afreeca TV since Afreeca TV and KAIST made a business agreement on internet broadcasting and joint use of contents in October 2015.

He said, “To ensure that university lectures have a competitive advantage, we need to know how to use the platform that the young people like. We have confirmed that there is a demand for advanced educational content through internet broadcasting.”

Professor Kim has also established a broadcasting station at KAIST College of Business, and has been giving MBA lectures. Although the lectures were initially for the alumni and current students, they have been available to the general public since last year.

Professor Kim’s lecture is an interactive online course in which the BJ and viewers communicate in real time, beyond the simple one-way video form. Existing online courses were limited in that students could not communicate with the professor as they are simply viewing the recorded lectures. The response for Professor Kim’s lecture is quite good. As of week 2 for CRM lecture, the average number of concurrent users is over 100, and the cumulative audience for the KAIST College of Business lectures has exceeded 30,000 to date.

Professor Kim will give a lecture on “Retrieving and acquiring potential customers” on March 23, “Maintaining good customers and filtering bad customers” on March 30, “Strengthening customers relationships" on April 6, “Customer relationship management analysis” on April 20, and “Execution strategy, process, and organizational design of CRM” on April 27.

The lectures from Afreeca TV and KAIST College of Business are scheduled to be followed by “Platform Economy” by Professor Cho, Daegon in May and “Network leadership for sustainable innovation” by Professor Kim, Tae-Hyun in June.
