SK Happiness Foundation holds Social Venture Boosting Day with KAIST Social Entrepreneurship MBA2017-09-15Hit:26
On the 1st of next month, KAIST Social Entrepreneurship MBA (SE-MBA) will be recruiting participants for the ‘Mentoring in 2017 Social Venture Boosting Day – Business Clinic for Startup Value innovation.’ This program is designed especially for social venture entrepreneurs in their 20-30s. The event is sponsored by SK Happiness Foundation and Happynarae.
According to the SK Happiness Foundation on the 30th, the Social Venture Boosting Day-Business Clinic Startup Value Innovation Mentoring Event supports young innovative social venture entrepreneurs to build a business model that meets their mission and vision, and to help them establish successful investment attraction strategies.
Those who want to participate can register at the KAIST-SK Social Entrepreneurs Center website by 6:00 pm on the 31st. The event will be held at SK Seoul Campus (Samil Street, Jung-gu).
This Social Venture Boosting Day consists of a special lecture on social venture start-ups and start-up stories, and group mentoring time.
The special lectures on social venture start-ups begin with a lecture titled “A to Z on Social Venture Entrepreneurship” by Prof. Jo, Sung-joo (Founding Professor at KAIST SE-MBA), followed by the lectures by Prof. Lee, Ji-hwan (Chair of KAIST SE-MBA) and Jung, Jae-ho, a CEO of KAIST Young Entrepreneurs Investment Holding Co.
In the special lecture on the start-up stories, entrepreneurs from the KAIST SE-MBA, including Hong Sung-jae, a co-founder of the “Public Space,” which is a representative social enterprise in the field of culture and arts, will talk about their vivid startup stories.
Moreover, in the group mentoring session, social venture experts from the faculty of KAIST SE-MBA, KAIST Young Entrepreneurship Investment Holders, and SK Happiness Foundation participate as mentors. The mentors plan to share their know-how on how to establish a social mission, how to develop a business model, and how to successfully attract impactful investments with the mentees.
There also will be a consulting session for applying for the KAIST SE-MBA, which is a master’s program of social venture start-ups at KAIST College of Business located at Hongleung, Seoul. Any young entrepreneurs wishing to enter the KAIST SE-MBA will have a chance to ask any questions they have regarding how to apply to KAIST SE-MBA.
“This event has been held for three consecutive years. I hope that many young social venture entrepreneurs will participate in this event so that they can share their difficulties and troubles with the mentors, and to run a constructive experience for them," said Kim, Yong-gap, head of the SK Happiness Foundation.
KAIST Social Entrepreneurship MBA (SE-MBA) is the world’s first full-time two-year program to train social entrepreneurs.
For the last three years, there have been 49 graduates from SE-MBA. Among them, 86% have succeeded in establishing new businesses, attracting follow-up investment of 1.5 billion won. SK happiness Foundation, Happynarae, and KAIST-SK Social Entrepreneurs Center supports the operation.
