Developing Global Leaders from a Domestic MBA2018-06-07Hit:2762

The KAIST MBA program, established 22 years ago, specializes in training professionals who are versatile in both technology and management by utilizing the characteristics of Korea’s top engineering research school. It is the only domestic university which is certified by four international organizations (AACSB, GMAC, EQUIS, PIM) and was also ranked as Asia’s No.1 business school for five consecutive years by the Financial Times until 2016.

The KAIST MBA provides individualized research labs to all full-time students 24 hours a day so that they can concentrate on their studies and research. In addition, KAIST runs its Reuters Trading Center, the largest financial training facility in Korea, and KOSCOM Financial Information Center, which can search real-time financial information from all over the world. One of the biggest advantages is the alumni network consisting of 8,300 graduates who have gone through KAIST MBA over the past 22 years. In addition, KAIST College of Business produces the largest number of business professors in Korea, specifically, 45% of the graduates of Management Engineering are employed as university professors.

The KAIST MBA operates four types of MBA programs. Techno MBA, which is the first two-year full time MBA program in Korea, has designated its Business Analytics course as a requirement in order to ensure that students become versatile professionals. Beyond a conceptual understanding, the course provides lessons to develop in-depth skills for understanding big data such as programming and statistical analysis. Information and Media MBA educate students to derive management insight in information technology (IT) and the media industry by analyzing big data in an Internet based (IoT)-based environment. The curriculum of Finance MBA is designed to train financial professionals with financial big data analysis skills in line with the rise of the Fintech industry. The Master of Financial Engineering, which contains in-depth financial analytics courses, offered the Financial and IT Convergence Education Program in cooperation with KAIST's Computer Science Department to train experts in the field of Fintech. KAIST MBA also focuses on educating entrepreneurs with new innovative business skills, and it fosters professionals who will work in existing companies through various start-up support programs.

KAIST College of Business also provides specialized MBA/MS programs for executives, managers, and employees from various organizations. The Executive MBA (EMBA) is held on Friday and Saturday for managers, executives, and CEOs. The Professional MBA (PMBA) runs in the evening so that individuals can both work and study. KAIST offers differentiated programs for each strategic field including finance, financial engineering, information media, information management, social entrepreneurs, and green management policy.
