KAIST college of business established a new organization for start-up ..2013-02-26Hit:4997

[KyongJaeToday Reporter, Yongil Jung] KAIST College of Business (KCB) announced, on February 13, that it has established ‘Silicon Valley Innovation Platform (S.V.I.P)’ in Silicon Valley to support the youth who have novel ideas but have difficulties in starting their own business in America.

KCB decided to establish the Silicon Valley Innovation Platform as KCB felt a growing need for the bridgehead for Korean promising youths and venture companies hoping to expand their business overseas. Any Korean youth and Korean venture company can apply for this open project, S.V.I.P.
KCB, in cooperation with U.S. MAC (US Market Access Center) in Silicon Valley, plans to provide offices and mentor system for Korean young businessmen and venture companies.
Although the Silicon Valley Innovation Platform currently works as a bridgehead for the entry of Korean youths and venture companies to the U.S. market, KCB, in the long run, aims to develop the S.V.I.P as an incubating center that can foster Korean tech-companies. KCB also plans to provide its own offices not rented from U.S. MAC for Korean youths and venture companies eventually.
KCB announced that it will start a fund-raising campaign to draw national attention to the establishment of S.V.I.P. The fund-raising campaign will be conducted until April at the homepage of Incujector, a social funding company.
“As KCB has been setting the business trend and playing a leading role in fostering business leaders through the first MBA program in Korea, we now feel the responsibility for supporting young businessmen from the early stage of their idea generation to the final stage of corporatization. We invite anyone interested in the project to participate”, said Professor Soung-Hie Kim, the assistant dean of KCB in charge of this project.
KCB will utilize the Silicon Valley Innovation Platform as a hub of local exchange and plans to provide overseas training for students in AIM, ATM, AHM, AIC, and MBA programs in the long run.
Incujector is a social funding company founded by two Techno-MBA graduates of KAIST College of Business, CEO Hyunjun Lee and a vice president Joonha Jun. Incujector has successfully supported many athletes of unpopular sports and worked on the Arirang project with Professor Gyongduk Seo.
