First in Asia for Three Straight Years in e-MBA Assessment, Selected by FT… Training 21st Century Experts2015-05-09Hit:3155

The MBA programs in KAIST College of Business, established in 1995 as Korea’s first full-time MBA, leads the nation’s business education on the basis of a world-class infrastructure. Furthermore, it has positioned itself as the representative MBA, leading the education of all-around intellects.

As Korea’s best engineering university, it makes the most out of its ability to teach analytical skills to provide pragmatic academics in which analytical and problem solving methodologies are underlined. Recently it also strengthened its start-up related curriculum and support system to foster intellects with an entrepreneurial mind.

It has been approved by authoritative institutions such as AACSB, GMAC, and EQUIS and has established a solid foothold as a global college of business by joining PIM (Partnership in International Management) in 2013, the first school in Korea to do so. Moreover, it is Korea’s first MBA course to enter the Financial Times’ ‘Top 100 Global MBAs’ and has been ranked first in Asia in the ‘Executive Education Ranking’ for three straight years since 2012.

KAIST MBA is focusing on providing its 600 MBA students with an optimal environment for academics and research. It provides individual research space (Labs) to all the enrolled students, regardless of their nationality, age, gender and experience. Labs are available for 24 hours a day and create a synergy effect since the students’, professors’ and researchers’ labs are clustered.

Various specialized curriculums offer a unique KAIST characteristic. Techno MBA (TMBA) is the first MBA curriculum opened in KAIST College of Business with the aim of fostering business specialists comprehending both technology and management.

Professional MBA (PMBA) is a night-time MBA for people who need to maintain their careers while studying. Students in PMBA can choose an area of study in the TMBA program and obtain specialized knowledge. Furthermore, Executive MBA (EMBA) for firms’ executives is operated as a 22 month long weekend course. IMBA for middle managers is a 1 year course that integrates the strength of TMBA and EMBA.

Dual degrees in partnership with various MBA programs globally are also a strength of KAIST MBA. When graduating, the students are granted a KAIST College of Business MBA degree, together with the affiliated College’s MBA or Master’s degree. All MBA courses include overseas training programs.


Due to the various MBA courses available, experienced intellects from various fields gather, creating a synergy effect and expanding the network. Around 5,900 alumni are working as executives in international firms such as Deloitte, JP Morgan, IBM, HP and in Korean firms such as Samsung, LG and SK.
