Korea’s first full-time MBA…fostering experts from various fields such as finance, IT, technology management.2016-01-29Hit:3435

KAIST College of Business (KCB) is well-known to be Korea’s first business school to establish a full-time MBA course in 1995.

One of the unique feature of KCB is that it utilizes its specialty as Korea’s top engineering research school and adopts the problem solving analyses and methodologies in the field of management. It aims to foster experts who specialize in the 21st century strategy field such as finance, IT, social enterprise and green growth.

KCB became a member of PIM in November 2013 as Korea’s first MBA and further established itself as a global business school. Furthermore, KAIST MBA was ranked in the ‘Global 100 MBA’ by the Financial Times in 2011 and was ranked as Asia’s first for four straight years since 2012 in Financial Time’s ‘Executive Education Business school ranking’.

The most representative among the MBA programs is TechnoMBA, which is the first established General MBA curriculum and aims to foster management experts that understands both technology and management. Professional MBA is a night-time MBA for those who are working and is appropriate for those who wants to strengthen their career. On the other hand, TechnoMBA is a full-time MBA in which students can obtain knowledge in various fields including marketing, finance and accounting. Furthermore, EMBA is established as a 22 month weekend course for the executives and IMBA is established as a 12 months course for the middle managers.

KAIST is also putting much effort to cope with the rapidly changing business environment. For instance, FinanceMBA specializes in the finance sector, Information Media MBA in the IT and media sector and GreenMBA aim to foster green policy and management experts.

Dual degree policy is also one of the unique characteristic of KAIST MBA. After completing the dual degree, the students obtain a MBA degree from KCB and either a MBA degree or master’s degree from a partner university. Every MBA course operates an appropriate overseas program and students participate in overseas education program at least once while in school.
