The first industry-university cooperative research on financial big data
MOU between Shinhan bank and KAIST
Shinhan Bank has decided and signed MOU with KAIST to carry forward an industry-university cooperative research on financial big data. Shinhan Bank is the first among the commercial banks to make the contract.
This research will be jointly carried on by Big Data Center at Shinhan Bank and Big Data Research Center at KAIST College of Business.
Shinhan Bank can solve their practical issues with the new insights gained from applying the academic research methods to field data. KAIST can also develop and gain practical research skills from analyzing the real field data. ‘Developing a model for retail customers’ primary bank measure’ has been selected as the first project in order to improve Shinhan Bank’s existing policy for primary transaction and measure.
It is planned to collect data through variable selection and panel data survey in large scale and develop the model by December from this joint research.
