April. 25th. 2017

KAIST College of Business announced on the 25th that it would hold the ‘21st Century Financial Vision Forum’ at the Plaza Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 27th. The forum is designed to probe recent developments in intelligent core technologies and to analyze application cases of domestic and foreign financial institutions.

Including Professor Kwon, Oh-kyu of KAIST, approximately 50 people from financial institutions, financial holding companies, banks, securities companies and insurance companies will attend the forum and discuss ways to enhance the competitiveness of the financial industry in the fourth industrial era.

An official from KCB said, “The fourth industrial revolution, which is taking place at a rapid pace, is also expected to make a big change in the financial industry. With the increasing number of people doing their banking through digital channels such as the Internet and smartphones, many changes are being attempted including closing or transforming offline branches.”

He added, “K-bank, an internet bank, will start to operate, and I think that non-face-to-face financial services will become more active in the future. Also, I think machine intelligence using intelligent information technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence will replace or assist the main functions in the major areas of financial institutions such as risk management, asset management, customer management and commodity sales and compliance.”
