The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) has topped the "Asia-Pacific region's Most Innovative Universities" list for two consecutive years.
Reuters announced the list after analyzing the competencies of the top 75 Asian universities from 2010 to 2015 in partnership with research firm Clarivate Analytics.
Seoul National University came second, followed by Tokyo University, Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTEC) and Sungkyunkwan University.
The list shows that Korean universities offer a high standard of innovation.
South Korea had 22 universities listed among the top 75. China and Hong Kong had a combined 25 and Japan had 19.
Key criteria included each institution's number of patent filings and research paper citations.
KAIST submitted 923 patent filings from 2010 to 2015 and was the most cited in research papers, topping the 75 top-ranked universities in Asia, according to Reuters.
