Seoul National University (SNU) was indisputably ranked 1st in the Advanced Management Program (AMP) evaluation among major universities in Korea. SNU has remained at the top for 4 consecutive years, from 2015 to 2018. Regardless of the type of company, executives from various fields (e.g., large corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises, financial institutions, and government or public institutions) pointed out that SNU is the number one university for submitting an application. SNU attracst attention from executives in terms of constructing a network, social reputation, educational contents, and being the best university in the field.
The score difference between Seoul National University and 2nd place is growing year by year. The gap, which was just 8.35 points in 2014 (SNU score: 60.09); it increased to 10.11 in 2016 (SNU score: 47.48), then to 14.9 in 2017 (SNU score: 66.22), and finally to 15.66 in 2018 (SNU score: 56.01).
KAIST, Yonsei University, and Korea University ranked 2nd to 4th. Korea University and KAIST compete for 2nd and 4th position every year. According to the KAIST AMP official, “KAIST, which has strong strengths in educational content, and Korea University, which has a well-established network, seem to be reversing their rankings in compliance with the social economic circumstances.” Yonsei University, which is evaluated as having a medium-level network and educational contents compared to KAIST and Korea University, has maintained third place since last year.
