'Friendship', 'Respect' and 'Excellence' are the three main Olympic values. In order to carry forward this spirit, KAIST College of Business’s Sports Day was held on April 27 at Ryu Geun Chul Sports Complex at KAIST Daejeon Main Campus. KCB students, faculty and staff members from both tSeoul and Daejeon participated in this excellent event.

This year, the concept of the Sports Day was the battle between two powerful animals, the tiger and bear. After arriving at Daejeon main campus, students from Seoul received a detailed bus tour of the main campus. After finishing a delicious lunch provided by the school, students and all participants were divided into two teams base on the location of the campus: Team Tiger (Seoul campus-School of Management Engineering) and Team Bear (Daejeon campus-School of Business and Technology Management). The official event started with a welcome speech given by the President of KAIST, followed by the traditional Korean warm-up activities.

All the participants enjoyed various sport games under the sunny weather wearing tiger and bear T-shirts, distributed to identify each team. This year, serval games were provided by the Student Council of KCB, which included, among other events, football, dodge ball, ping-pong, badminton, running, tug-of war and various mini games.

Muhammed Zohaib Alvi (FMBA 2017/Pakistan), one of KOICA students who participated in the event said: “KCB Sports Day was a very well organized event. We were able to take part in a host of sports such as football (soccer), badminton and tug of war. It was a very welcome break from normal life at campus. We can say that this event even served as a much needed boost of energy for us all. It also gave me the opportunity to mingle with the international and local students at Daejeon campus. I got to know a number of people from around the globe and shared very warm conversations with them. It was also a delight to find people from many different countries in Daejeon. The success of this event is in great part due to the excellent handling of the whole affair. From our departure to arrival back in Seoul, the whole thing was very well planned and executed. In short, I thoroughly enjoyed the Sports Day and it will be sad if I will miss out on this event the next year.”

At the end of the Sports Day, an exciting lottery was held with serval incredible prizes which included a computer monitor, Bluetooth speakers and coffee coupons. A day outside the classroom turned out to be a complete success and all participants felt happy and satisfied regardless of the game results. The participants not only enjoyed playing and competing in sports games, but it was also a wonderful chance to make new friends and experience the power of teamwork. For sure, it was another amazing day for KCB members!
