The annual New Student Workshop has become an exciting and unique cultural event of KAIST College of Business (KCB). On February 2nd and 3rd, a 2-day workshop for new students of 2018 was held at YBM Training Center in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do. On the occasion, students from Finance MBA, Techno MBA and other departments, received an emotional welcome by KAIST members and were formally incorporated for the spring semester 2018.

The event was divided into 5 main parts. After allocating the accommodations for all the new students of KCB, they were divided into 10 teams for the purpose of building friendship with all the college members by enjoying a variety of games which required a high level of teamwork. Following up the end of the team-building games, a delightful dinner was held, warm and touching speeches were given by the faculty members of KCB, and an excellent Korean-dance was also presented.

After the delightful dinner, students were instructed to discuss a role-playing performance with their team members. Even though there were some difficulties for international students during the discussion process, all international students enjoyed networking with their teammates. Finally, after role play meeting, new students were assigned into different groups according to their major. Under this social networking section, professors and students received a precious opportunity to share experiences and know each other.

The next morning, each group met again and performed their role-playing projects which involved drama, comedy and dancing under the theme of ‘Beyond Knowledge’.  At the end, an award was given to the team whose creativity expressed the theme of ‘Beyond Knowledge’.

When retuning, the new students were fully motivated and proud to be part of the excellent educational institution, KAIST College of Business.
