KAIST ranked 96th in Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021 which maintained second place in Republic of Korea.

Other institutions within the nation also showed improvements in which Sungkyunkwan University placed 101 in the world.

Times Higher Education (THE), a global university evaluation organization in the U.K., released such results through 'THE World University Ranks 2021' on the 2nd. The evaluation included the top 1,527 universities in 93 countries. Maeil Business is currently exclusively reporting various rankings of THE's university evaluations in Korea.

This year, UK's University of Oxford claims top spot for the 5h consecutive year. Stanford University and Harvard University in the US ranked second and the third. Tsinghua University in China has become the first Asian university to break into the top 20 in the world.

Seven Korean universities are ranked among the top 200 in the world, including Seoul National University, KAIST(96th), Sungkyunkwan University(101st), POSTECH (151st), Korea University (167th), UNIST (176th) and Yonsei University Seoul Campus (187th).
