March 27, 2003------Despite the current job market and the unstable economic situation, KAIST Graduate School of Management’s job placement ratio for the last three years is 98%. The School’s career placement report indicates that 395 of 404 graduates in last 3 years have secured jobs despite the current sluggish economy. In this year alone the job placement ratio by recent graduates is 96%. For non company-sponsored students, 31% is placed in the financial industry, 24% in manufacturing and 24% in consulting. Statistics also reveal that the 16 Techno-MBA graduates secured positions with Samsung Group, and the remaining 12 graduates secured positions with large firms including POSCO, KTF and LG Group. All graduates in the Financial Engineering Program (FE-MBA) have positions in major financial and investment companies. In addition, graduates in the Management Information Systems Program (MIS-MBA) show 100% job placement in the major consulting firms, including Deloitte Consulting, LG CNS, Entrue Consulting, and PwC. Other companies that recruited KGSM graduates include IBM Korea, NICE, Samsung Electronics, SK Group and Hyundai. According to the Career Placement Center, the report indicates that 90% of the students were offered jobs before graduation and students had an opportunity to “choose” the company that fulfills their career and compensation goals. Moreover, the report shows that their annual salary level is 33% higher than their previous pay. Professor Yonjoo Cho, MBA Director, says “Our practical curriculum and placement events, such as the MBA Job Fair, helped us develop this high placement ratio for our graduates. We will be expanding placement activities to promote networking with our alumni and HR executives”.
