SK-KAIST establish MBA for CSR


SK group and KAIST establish an MBA program focusing on CSR. SK officially announced the MOU for the Social Entrepreneurship MBA with KAIST on May 30th.

Chairman Choi Tae-won of SK Group, President Suh Nam-pyo of KAIST, and Undersecretary (this is probably Vice Minister) Lee Gi-gwon of the Department of Ministry of Employment and Labor attended.

Chairman Choi said “youth unemployment is a severe social problem, but there is a limit in asking business enterprises to take responsibility” and “we can only find the solution through the challenge of youth and the venture boom which arise through non-business enterprises (social enterprises)”

SK-KAIST Social Entrepreneurship MBA opens next spring. Twenty five students will be selected and for the customized program which focuses on Social Entrepreneurship. They will learn basic management skills and theories as well as the method of establishing new social businesses in first year. In second year, they will focus on planning and concretizing their own business.

SK group will construct ‘SK Social Entrepreneurship Center’ on the KAIST Seoul campus and support this program in various ways.
