Opening of new Master"s Programs, targeting for the BTS(Back To School) group


KAIST Business School launched new programs to educate business experts


New Master"s prgrams targeting the BTS(Back To School) are now rising. Employees who are putting their efforts to have high expertise to be a core member of their company are referred to as BTS group.





Unlike ‘Salarytents’ (Salarymen + Student) who go to private institutes after their work or through online websites, learning foreign languages or obtaining certificates, BTS group spend full two years or more and invest their money to have specialized professions.





KAIST Business School opens a new “Finance MS program” to educate finance leaders who can apply their knowledge to working places through their international level research competence.


Curriculum for the Finance Engineering MS program will mostly rely on developing quantitative skills of financial products such as equities, bonds, derivatives, and risk management.




Professor In-moo, Lee (KAIST Chair Professor/Dean of KGSFA) mentioned “With the onset of Finance Engineering MBA since 1996, KAIST Business School has gained high expertise and teaching know-how on the financial markets. This program provides utmost educational services for those who are willing to learn quantitative and analytical skills to be finance experts”


Besides, KAIST Business School’s another program called ‘MS in Information Management (MSIM)’ aims to foster IT based business leaders.


Students in MSIM will learn IT industry related courses; IT based Business Innovation, IT Management, Management in IT, IT Venture, Information Security, Application Development, and etc. This two-year MS program is designed for those who desire self-improvement but have difficulties to enroll in full-time degree programs.


Professor Byung-tae Lee (Dean of College of Business, KAIST) said, “Business Schools nowadays are changing their course curriculum from traditional perspectives which only focused on research-oriented to courses that reflect current industrial needs. This is truly a natural phenomenon in that business environment is keep changing. Thus KAIST Master"s Programs fit these needs.”
