Contributors to Korea’s e-government were rewarded

On July 9, 2012, the Ministry of Public Administration and Security presented awards to 17 contributors. The ceremony was held to honor the hard work of 17 people who contributed to Korea being ranked first in the 2012 United Nations E-government Survey Rankings. Since 2011, Korea has maintained its position as the world leader in the United Nations E-government Survey Rankings.

The 17 contributors are public officials, professors, and IT related professionals. One of the contributors is Hee-seok Lee, a professor at KAIST College of Business. He has contributed to promoting Korea’s e-government in foreign organizations.

During the ceremony, Minister Hyeong-Gyu Maeng made this statement to the attendees: “Although we are recognized in the world for our achievements, you should not become complacent. Please continue working hard to maintain Korea’s first rank in the next UN E-government Survey Rankings.”
