KAIST Business School is accredited for Global Management Education


KAIST Business School’s MBA programs are already well-known around the world. This year, the Financial Times (FT) announced that KAIST Business School is the Number 1 business school in Asia, and 28th in the world in the "2012 Executive Education Business School Ranking."


Last year, KAIST College of Business was included in the Financial Times ‘Global MBA Rankings 2011’ for the first time among Korean MBA programs. Especially, in the area of exposure to International Experience which can be measured by overseas field trips and student exchange program participation, KAIST MBA ranked 6th. KAIST College of Business also ranked 17th in career support satisfaction.


The most authoritative world institutions for global management education recognize KAIST College of Business. KAIST Business School is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) and the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).


KAIST MBA offers seven special programs according to industry, job level, and time. Techno MBA is a 2-year full-time program; it has 8 tracks including marketing, production, management science, organization and strategies. IMBA is a 1-year fast track intensive program for middle managers. Professional MBA is 2.5 or 3-year program for students who want to continue to work and, at the same time, upgrade their careers to become professionals by taking evening classes on Tuesday and Thursday. The Excutive MBA Program is for turning managers into capable CEOs of the future.


KAIST College of Business also offers customized MBA programs. Finance MBA is a 2-year full time program specializing in the field of finance and the banking industry. All students in Finance MBA spend a semester abroad. Information and Media MBA is a 1-year program providing education specialized education in the IT and Media industry. In cooperation with SK Group, KAIST offers free tuition to students in the Social Entrepreneurship MBA program.

KAIST MBA has about 3000 alumni: the alumni network of KAIST Business School is one of its strongest points. According to an analysis of KAIST MBA graduates, as of June 2012, executive-level alumni number about 270, which is about 9 percent of the total graduates. KAIST MBA alumni are executives in large corporations including Nomura Financial Investment Korea, JP Morgan Korea, Macquarie Securities Korea Limited, Samsung Electronics, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), and POSCO. In this sense, KAIST MBA is regarded as an ‘Academy for Executives’.
