KAIST College of Business School established a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) -- the first MBA in Korea. The Dean of KCB is Dr. Lee Byungtae. As a top research university in natural sciences and engineering, KAIST has considered a scientific and systematic methodology as a priority.

Last year the Financial Times (FT) ranked KAIST Executive MBA as top program in Korea, the best in Asia, and 28th in the world. In other words, KAIST MBA is recognized as prestigious global MBA program.

One of distinct features of KAIST MBA is that it offers dual degree programs with top-class global MBA programs in the areas of accounting, law, finance, and media. Moreover, KAIST has agreements with schools in 50 nations in Asia, Europe, and North America involving student exchange and academic cooperation. Therefore every student has at least more than one opportunity to participate abroad education programs.

Another distinct feature is the alumni network. About 3000 KAIST MBA alumni play a crucial role as highly skilled professionals and executives in multinational corporations such as Deloitte, BP, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, IBM, HP, and Morgan Stanley. and Korea leading companies such as Samsung, LG, and SK.

KAIST students come because they would like to change their careers, and the career change rate is 89%. Moreover, the employment rate.98% is a distinct feature of the KAIST MBA.

KAIST MBA educates and nurtures many professionals, segmenting MBA courses and making an appropriate curriculum for research and practical application. Techno MBA, a general MBA curriculum, has 8 different concentrations including marketing, SCM, strategy and organization, accounting, finance, IT management, climate change, and Global. IMBA is a one-year course for intermediate managers. The Executive MBA is a 22-month degree course for core managers and executives who have a minimum of 10 years of work experience.

The Professional MBA is an evening program for students who want to continue working and, at the same time, upgrade their careers. In general, it requires three years to complete the Professional MBA. There is also an accelerated path for students who wish to complete the program in two and a half years.

There are three types of industry-specific MBAs – the Finance MBA, Information and Media MBA, and Social Entrepreneurship MBA. In the Finance MBA every student spends one semester abroad during their second year. The Information and Media MBA is the only MBA specialized in the IT and media industry. The Social Entrepreneurship MBA provides regular courses, and it cooperates with SK Social Entrepreneurship Center to offer practical business start-up assistance programs including mentoring, incubating, and inviting investment.
