KAIST College of Business, Specialized
in Strategic Areas including Finance and IT, scores the Highest Employment Rate
in Korea.
KAIST College of Business opened the
nation’s first full-time MBA course in 1995. The strategic curriculum of
KAIST’s MBA program includes courses and issues most applicable in the 21st
century. These include Climate Change, Carbon Finance and Green Finance.
About 45 percent of entering students
have a science or engineering background, meaning that KAIST MBA has become
essential for office workers’ career change & development. The school also
established a solid foothold among world MBA programs by becoming the nation’s
first member of PIM (Partnership in International Management), a worldwide
association in business education, last November.
Research labs are designated to provide
each student with his or her own personal space within a smaller group of peers,
usually composed of 4~12 students. Each semester, labs are rearranged in
consideration of students’ nationalities, work experience, age, and gender.
KAIST also allocates one or two international students per lab to facilitate a
smooth transition into Korea. The lab spaces enhance a sense of community among
students, and provide each with a zone to share creative ideas and hone
communication skills as part of a team, unbound by time and space.
The lab system is rare and highly
evaluated in the business schools worldwide. Minhi Hahn, Dean of KAIST College
of Business, says that “KAIST College of Business is the world’s only business
school offering research facilities to students, faculty, and researchers.”
KAIST MBA operates several MBA programs:
Techno MBA – its original MBA curriculum, Finance MBA, Social Enterprise MBA,
Green MBA, and IT-Medial MBA. Finance MBA has been producing high potential
individuals who have practical and research abilities in the financial engineering
field. It is often called a ‘Finance Academy.’
Last January, the school was listed on
the ‘2013-2014 Best Financial Market’ published by Eduniversial, international
rating agency that specializes in business education. KCB ranked No 17, the
only one in the country.
‘Social
Enterprise MBA’, co-founded with SK Group, focuses on making a sustainable
social enterprise ecosystem. Its primary object is to produce young
entrepreneurs who not only contribute to society but also create jobs.
‘Green
MBA’ is nurtures business people who can push into world market by creating new
business with green technology as well as innovating traditional business in an
eco-friendly way. Recognized for its excellent curriculum and supporting
system, the Green MBA program was ranked 6th in the Corporate
Knights ‘Green MBA Ranking.’
The Info & Media MBA aims to provide
management education specialized in the IT/Broadcasting/Telecom/Media/Content
convergence industry. Based on specialized education, KAIST has scored a 96%
success rate of its students finding employment within three months after
graduation for the last three years. KAIST also received the highest rating in
the ‘2013 Higher Education Graduates Employment Statistics’ published by the Ministry
of Education.
KAIST MBA has a plan to provide each
student one-on-one career coaching service by maintaining at least 4 staff members
offering career development service only. In addition, KAIST will offer various
