About 200 alumni from KAIST have been promoted to executives in 2014~20152014-09-25Hit:3857

An official in KAIST said that 204 people who graduated from KAIST College of Business have been promoted to executives in major companies from 2013 to this year in Korea. 109 of them became executives in 2013. Furthermore, 95 people were promoted to the executive level in major firms. The official explained that these figures were only counted from KAIST MBA graduates, including the Executive MBA program, and those with a master’s or doctor’s degree.

32 graduates were promoted to executives at subsidiaries of Samsung Group including Samsung Electronics and Cheil Industries, and 26 people became executives in Korea Telecom this year.

There were many people who became executives in the financial industry. A total of 31 people graduating from KAIST College of Business were promoted to executives at 8 major financial companies, which are Kookmin Bank, Hana Bank, Woori Bank, Woori Card, Woori Financial, Samsung Securities, LIG Insurance and Shinhan Life Insurance. The official mentioned that the alumni who became executives in the financial industry mostly majored in financial engineering or Executive MBA in KAIST. He additionally said that some alumni were promoted to the executive level at the nation’s 117 companies including Korea Asset Management Corporation.

KAIST College of Business invites alumni who became executives at the beginning of each year and holds a celebration. In addition, the school sets up a networking program to connect students with the alumni. KAIST College of Business provides graduates with ‘lifelong education service’ in that they can take up to 3 courses per semester. Minhi Hahn, the Dean of the school, states that he has a plan to provide the alumni with quality education to become key figures in all levels of society.
