KGSF international students had a wonderful outing to Daejeon on October 30, 2015. The group visited KAIST main campus, the currency museum, and nearby river for outdoor activities.

The students were eager to go out and enjoy the fresh air right after the mid-term exam. They will cherish the unforgettable memories of the examination week at KAIST so you can imagine how they needed this break.

Leaving the Seoul campus at 7:30, early in the morning, it took Two-and-a-half hours to get to the main campus in Daejeon. When they arrived, they were greeted by the big open campus with the beautiful duck pond and red orange leaf trees.

To start with, two student ambassadors from the organization of KAIST ambassadors, called KAINURI, led the group on a campus tour which lasted for 50 minutes. Following up, the group had a chance to stop by the student cafeteria for lunch and the souvenir shop in the Student Union Building.

After a short visit to the main campus, the group headed to the Currency Museum which is operated by the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation (KOMSCO). The Currency Museum offers an educational program by exhibiting historical materials of domestic and foreign currencies as well as giving information on the currency culture and the improvement of currency making techniques.

An hour later, they finally went to their last destination- Gabcheon, a nearby river. There, the group enjoyed riding pedal boats in the beautiful scenery along the riverside. After pedal boat racing, the group finally came back to Seoul with fun memories.

Even with the chilly weather, the group truly enjoyed the nice day out and was able to refresh their bodies and minds.
