One of the biggest events for KAIST College of Business (KCB) was held on February 18th, 2017 in the Auditorium. The commencement ceremony took place with emotional speeches and congratulations, especially for our 19 international students. With the sound of trumpets and trombones, the students and the distinguished professors made their entrance into this memorable event.

Among statistics of KAIST’s achievements, combined with emotional speeches by distinguished guests, the international students celebrated the culmination of one of their most important steps in their academic life. The celebration was complemented with awards and distinctions including the KAIST Highest Honor Award granted to Jean Michel and the Best Thesis Award granted to Phebian Bewaji, both chosen from the Finance MBA program.

During the ceremony, the importance of the cohesion among students was strongly emphasized. The Dean of KAIST College of Business mentioned in his speech, “...please notice that your achievements today were not done by your efforts alone. Your achievements were possible thanks to your colleagues’ support and help; without your family members’ support it wouldn’t have been possible for you to stand here today.” At the end, the happiness of the students and teachers was reflected in a series of photographs that captured the moment of celebration, enjoyment and delight.

Before the international students return to their countries, KAIST Graduate School of Finance (KGSF) offered a meaningful farewell event for the fourth KAIST-KOICA group. KOICA students and faculty members, who were fundamental throughout the program, were honored in this event that was held on February 20th, 2017 in a cafe near school. Professor Joo-Hoon Kim highlighted this event with a commemorative speech; also, the graduates had the opportunity to share some last pictures and memories with the new KOICA group.

After these two great events, the members of the KOICA 2015 Group went back home full of knowledge, new projects and with the motivation to generate a significant and positive change.
