KGSF has over 100 international
alumni worldwide since our establishment in 2006. Most of our alumni are government
officials in their countries, and they return to their jobs after the
completion of the program. In this edition, we would like to share a brief
story of Ronald Baganzi whom completed the PhD program at Kyunghee University. He
is the first student to obtain his doctorate from a Korean University among our
alumni.
◇ Ronald Baganzi (FMBA 2013/Uganda)
Dr. Baganzi has a degree in Accounting from Makerere University
Kampala, Uganda. He worked as a Senior Banking Officer at the Bank of Uganda
before joining KAIST. In fall 2013, he became a member of the Finance MBA
program on a KOICA Scholarship. Over the 19 months of the course, he rigorously
studied and challenged himself in the field of finance and became an expert who
can make and improve new financial policies in his country. During his study,
he excelled academically as one of the best students with high honors, and his
name was on the Dean’s list.
Upon completion of his FMBA degree at KAIST in August 2015, he
decided to pursue a PhD at Kyung Hee University in Korea. He was offered the
President Scholarship to pursue a fulltime PhD in Business Administration.
During his study, he was able to publish articles in international peer-reviewed
journals. Within the minimum time of three years, Ronald was able to complete
the PhD with highest honors. Just last month on August 22, his PhD was
conferred, and his thesis was entitled “Modeling Consumers’ Adoption Intentions
of Mobile Wallets: A case of Kakao Bank in Korea, Alipay in China and Mobile
