Visits from the foreign colleges...Academic excellence acknowledged.2015-07-03Hit:2995

The recent Korean Wave that has hit Southeast Asia including China and Japan, is expanding its influence to South America as shown by the exportation of education contents. Furthermore, more and more foreign universities from the U.S, Russia, Hong Kong and India, are visiting KAIST College of Business.

KAIST College of Business has been operating the “Doing Business in Korea’ program since 2012 that provides customized education that allows visiting students to encounter business ethics and culture in Korea. Up to 2014, more than 300 students from 7 universities have participated in the program.

Among the visiting universities are the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, King Fahd Univ. of Petroleum and Minerals and St. Mary’s College of California

MIPT of Russia started a program in May for two weeks, followed by PolyTech University of Hong Kong in June and IIMB in August. MIPT of Russia is a well known university in applied Physics and Mathematics as it has produced numerous Nobel Prize winners. Students of MIPT majoring in applied systems engineering in their master’s course are planned to take part in KAIST College of Business courses and visit the major Korean firms such as Samsung electronics and CJ E&M.

Students of IIMB who are planned to visit in August, will receive lectures on the general Korean economy and visit major firms to experience Korean industry and culture. It is IIMB’s third visit to KAIST College of Business.

“I appreciated how more and more foreign universities are visiting us and are showing satisfaction regarding the curriculum of KAIST College of Business…We have become a well-known business school in Asia, and we are ranked first in Asia, and 20th globally in the ‘Executive Education Business School Ranking’ by the FT. Hence, we hope to have more visits from students abroad,” said TongSuk Kim, the Dean of KAIST College of Business.
