KAIST has ranked 6th for two consecutive years in Reuters Top 100: the world’s most innovative universities - 2017.


According to KAIST on 29th, Reuter released Reuters Top 100: the World’s Most Innovative Universities - 2017. Reuter identifies and ranks a list of educational institutions based on criteria such as the influence of academic research and patent filings.

 

While KAIST ranked 10th in 2015, it has ranked 6th for two consecutive years since 2016. KAIST is the only Korean and Asian school to place in the top ten. Reuters introduced KAIST as “one of the two Asian schools within the top twenty, which teaches the classes in English.”



KAIST is said to have received high marks in evaluation indexes including patent success rate and paper citations by industry. Stanford University is #1 for the third consecutive year, followed by MIT, Harvard University, and University of Pennsylvania. While US-based universities placed in the top four, Belgium’s KU Leuven is ranked 5th.
