Let’s Visit the Advanced Management Program (AMP) in KAIST2013-07-17Hit:6296

Recently, the Advanced Management Program (AMP) has been popular among high ranking company and government officials because it is the best place for building a human network, as well as listening to lectures on business management. Therefore we will visit AMPs in major Korean universities and graduate schools. <Editor’s Comment>

Reporter 한경규 in AJU Business Daily = KAIST (Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), known as the mecca of cutting-edge science, organizes AMP, integrating management and science. It covers a wide range of topics from science to humanities and art to focus on creative and innovative management.

AMP is the abbreviation of Advanced Management Program. However, KAIST differently named its program AIM (Advanced Innovation Management Program), adding one more word, ‘Innovation’.

KAIST also has an excellent and diverse faculty including professors of KAIST College of Business, experts and artists in the field.

Even though the history of AIM in KAIST is relatively shorter than the history of other AMPs in other prestigious universities, a number of leaders in the political and economic world completed the course of AIM.

For example, Daekyo chairman 강영중, Hyundai Development Company chairman 정몽규, Cheil Worldwide chairman 임대기, GS Shop chairman 허태수, Evezary chairman 고춘홍, Yes24 chairman 김기호, Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK) president 조준희, Maeil Dairies chairman 이창근, STX chairman 변용희, National Assembly Speaker 강창희, and incumbent Presidential Spokesman 김행 are alumni of KAIST AIM.

KAIST AIM produces graduates twice every year. Recently it has been recruiting new students for the 2013 Fall semester.

The number of student to be admitted is fifty, and mail-in applications are accepted until August 14th. Tuition is 10 million WON, which includes a study abroad program.

Its 2013 Fall semester is for 18 weeks, from September 5th, 2013 to January 23rd, 2014. Also the class starts at 5:00 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday in KAIST College of Business, Seoul.
