We would like to introduce excellent research papers written by our alumni or current students in this section. In this issue we are posting a brief introduction of the following paper: “Evidence of the Environmental Kuznets Curve Hypothesis in Ghana” by Asante Kwesi. (FMBA 2014)

This paper investigates the relationship between carbon emissions and economic growth along with many other pertinent variables. Via rigorous statistical methods, this study confirms that carbon emissions may decrease as economic growth persists. Some policy implications are provided that suggest emerging markets and the government should partake in sustainable development pathways. 

Kwesi completed the Green Finance Track during his coursework in Finance MBA. We are very impressed he made such extra efforts in specialization. Since graduation he has been working in the Ministry of Finance as Deputy Coordinator of NREG (Natural Resources and Environmental Governance) and the EITI (Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative) Secretariat. He assists with the coordination of the policy dialogue and annual reviews of the NREG-PAF and coordinates the activities of the Ministries/Departments/Agencies involved in the NREG Program. He also helps coordinate the Ghana EITI activities which are anchored on the international EITI requirements.
