In December 2015, KGSF surveyed the international alumni in order to assess outcomes of our program and gather suggestions for improvement. Survey results are available in the final report. KGSF would like to share the highlight with you as follows:

According to the survey results, many of our alumni said that they have been applying what they learned to the real world successfully.

Abraham Ablorh Mensah (FMBA 2013, Ministry of Finance, Ghana) learned how to use Visual Basic in Excel and a Program in "Computer Programming" in KAIST. With programming skills, he created new codes which are being used by the Finance Department to analyze internal financial reports.

Grace G. Lazarte (FMBA 2009, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas) is currently involved in operational risk management of the Treasury Department. She said that having learned the various investment products enables her to better understand many financial regulations in various jurisdictions and design/implement the risk management framework.

They also have been trying to share their knowledge within their organizations.

Lila Raj Kafle (FMBA 2013, Ministry of General Administration, Nepal) is working with duel monitor, which he used in class in KAIST, in his work place after returning to Nepal. This helps him to multi-task when using a computer. He has shared this idea with his colleagues as well. His presentation skills also became more refined in KAIST, and he has continuously developed himself. And he helps his colleagues with their presentation skills as well.

Our alumni seem to have never stopped studying after graduation. More than 70% of the respondents reported that they are still learning to strengthen their knowledge and skills.

Nurbek Darvishev (FMBA 2013, Uzbekistan Fund for Reconstruction and Development) said: “KAIST has helped me make a giant leap towards becoming a better professional and a better person. I want to continue strengthening my knowledge, therefore I have signed up for several online courses at edx.org including Predictive Analytics, Statistics for Business, Statistical Thinking, Mathematical Modeling for Options and others.”

The alumni shared many suggestions regarding KGSF alumni services, which means that their interest has been increasing since KGSF started the services last year.

Among the suggestions, many alumni want KGSF to hold an Alumni Conference or Homecoming Event, which will be a great opportunity to gather in Korea. Even though we have been developing an online education platform for international alumni, that includes posting financial articles and lectures on the website and encouraging communication in the online network (Newsletter, SNS), we also realize that offline networking is necessary. Therefore, we have begun holding the KAIST Conference on Emerging Financial Markets since last year and we have invited two alumni as presenters to Korea. To expand such events to accommodate all alumni, it is necessary to review budget concerns. It seems that if the individuals can afford to pay their own traveling expense, it will be possible for us to organize a big event and establish its budget. Although obviously the idea is in the early stages, we will listen to suggestions from alumni.

The survey results will yield valuable information pertinent to both the graduates' satisfaction at the college and their post-graduate activities. KGSF will continue to survey alumni annually to develop our educational process and improve the level of alumni satisfaction.
