KAIST College of Business is recruiting news students for KAIST Information Management Masters course from April 10th to 21st. The course starts in September 2015, and a presentation regarding admission is being held in March 19th.
The Information Management Masters course (IMMS), is a part time program for professionals, focusing on the development of knowledge of the latest IT technology issues and providing insight into IT industry-specific business. The object of this course is to guide the students to apply theory and create synergy. There are two classes every week for two years and the students are required to take a total of 39 credits.
A unique feature of IMMS is that students can obtain knowledge regarding the latest IT technology issues and gain insight into the IT Management field. Classes that specialize in IT strategy, IT innovation, and the network and high-tech industry are available; some basic courses on accounting and finance are also available. Moreover, the program provides venture start-up related lectures and design innovation classes which benchmark Stanford’s design school.
An overseas study trip to the Silicon Valley is scheduled during the 1styear summer break in which students can experience cultures of numerous world leading firms. Moreover, from the 2nd year, students are required to submit their thesis statement with the aid of the professors.
One of the greatest advantage of IMMS is that the students can immediately apply what they have learnt in the actual field. “IMMS provides a perfect environment for investigation and practical approaches to improve one’s core ability. Many of the students, including me, have experience a positive effect throughout the course and have learned to focus on the ‘big picture’. On top of that, the network which embraces great professors and classmates is also a great help in the field” said Lee Tak-gyun, the director of the headquarters of Novartis and a 2012 graduate of IMMS.
KAIST College of Business has been widely recognized in the IT management field. In 2005, it was ranked 13th in the IS Research Global Ranking and in 2009, it was ranked 3rd in Asia in the High Impact IS Papers and Researchers survey.
The Admission presentation will be held in SUPEX Hall of KAIST College of Business on the 19th of March at 6 P.M. Pre-registration can be done on the homepage of KAIST College of Business ( http://www.business.kaist.ac.kr).
