KAIST College of Business offers MBA programs to prepare for the fourth industrial revolution era. Information Media MBA, Social Entrepreneurship MBA, and other specialized programs assists in training ‘Field Commanders’ who can play an active role at the forefront of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. KCB provides a differentiated curriculum from its 22 years of accumulated know-how since in 1995 it established the first full-time MBA program in Korea.


The best science and engineering MBA in Korea


KAIST College of Business teaches the analytical framework that can be applied directly in practice by taking advantage of the characteristics of being the best science and engineering research university in Korea. The goal is to produce professional managers specialized in 21st-century strategic areas such as technology management, finance, information technology (IT), social entrepreneurship, and green growth. The school offers a convergent curriculum including big data analysis and artificial intelligence (AI) to nurture talented individuals that will lead the new management environment in which the 4th industrial revolution is becoming real.


In November 2013 KAIST MBA became the first MBA program in Korea to chosen as a member of Partnership in International Management (PIM), establishing its position as a globally prestigious business school. It has also been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB), Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), and European Business University Council (EQUIS).  KCB is the only MBA program in the country to be accredited by the four international institutions.


In 2011, it became the first full-time MBA in Korea to be ranked in the ‘Global Top 100 MBAs’ by the Financial Times (FT), and it has been ranked as number one in Asia in FT’s ‘Executive MBAs’ for five consecutive years since 2012.


As a world-class MBA, KAIST MBA helps students developing a global sense through dual degree programs and overseas training. After completing a dual degree program, students receive an MBA degree from KAIST College of Business and an MBA or Master's degree from partner universities. All MBA programs run courses at both universities, and students participate in the course of study abroad at least once while attending school.

Specialized Programs for the 4th Industrial Revolution


‘Specialized MBA’ programs demonstrate the unique expertise of KAIST in the face of the 4th industrial revolution. The specialized program for the 4th industrial revolution is Information Media MBA. It aims to cultivate professional managers capable of making business decisions by analyzing big data in the environment of the Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud computing. The core curriculum involves a management consulting project in which all the students must participate. The management consulting project is an industry-university collaboration program that consults major issues of the firms. It is popular among the firms as it can also help them to find talented individuals.


The Social Entrepreneurship MBA, co-founded with the SK Group, the so-called “Start-up MBA,” is also famous. It supports the establishment of a systematic business plan through professional mentoring in conjunction with KCB curriculum for two years. It also provides specialized start-up incubation services that include market research and offices on campus. It provides investment and management support after graduation through KAIST Venture Investment Co., Ltd. and SK Happiness Sharing Foundation.


Also, there are diverse industry-specific MBAs such as the Financial MBA, specializing in the financial industry, and the Green MBA, that trains experts in green policy and management.
