MOU between KOICA and KAIST

KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency), which is a Korean government agency with the objective of implementing the Korean Government’s Grant Aid Program, made an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with KAIST in order to open a program to provide training for financial experts in developing countries.

The two-year agreement between KOICA and KAIST is going to provide seventeen students each year with a full scholarship that includes tuition, dormitory, and a monthly living stipend. From this coming August, students will learn lessons from Korea"s development experience through industry visits and field trips in addition to their studies. This will help them to increase their ability to lead the economic development of their own countries.

Daewon Park, KOICA president, said “for social and economic independence of developing countries, it is necessary to build systems to cope with the financial crisis. Trainees are expected to become financial experts leading the economic development of their home countries.”
